Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to anyone who reads our little blog.  We have lots to be thankful for this year.  We are particularly fortunate to have a healthy pregnancy.  Here's hoping for a safe, happy delivery sometime soon!

39 week stats

Mom:
  • Had really hard, painful Braxton Hicks contractions for a couple of hours last Saturday night.
  • Despite said 'contractions', that stubborn little cervix is still at a whopping ZERO.
  • Isn't mad at her stubborn cervix... our OB and both of Baby Boy's Grandma's are out of town for Thanksgiving.  Fort Knox can stay locked up until all of those ladies are back home and ready for go-time.
  • However, will start to get mad at her stubborn cervix if absolutely no progress is made by Baby Boy's due date next week.  (trust me, we've been doing all of the things you're supposed to do to get the labor party started.  ALL of them.  However, progress = nada.  Oh well, at least we're enjoying ourselves.)
  • Still hungry ALL the time and can't seem to eat enough these days.  As a result, gained 2 pounds this week.  Wonders what kind of damage tonight's Thanksgiving dinner will do to the scale ;)
  • Still feels great, still super tired.  Knows we have NO clue what kind of exhaustion we're in for once our baby is here.
  • LOVES having such a sweet hubby to rub her tired back.
  • Still craves mashed potatoes, anything from Cafe Rio, Spanish olives, and Costco tomatoes.
  • Still loves being pregnant, but is ready and excited for Baby Boy to get here.
Baby Boy:
  • Apparently LOVES his home in the womb and isn't in any hurry to make his debut.  After seeing that Mom hasn't made any progress, the OB said, "Well, he's made himself a nice, cozy home in there.  He has his football posters up and isn't planning on moving out anytime soon."
  • Still has lots of hiccups.  Adorable.
  • Still constantly on the move.  It's really fun to watch the belly bounce and sway from side to side.
  • Probably likes his back rubbed... he sometimes pushes and holds his little back out when Mom and Dad rub the belly.
  • After EIGHT loads of laundry, a bazillion trips to Babies R Us, Target, and Ikea, and hours of assembling furniture... has everything in his room washed, set up, and ready to go whenever he decides to make his grand entrance.
  • Still sounds healthy with a heartbeat of 150 BPM.
  • Still loves to roll his feet around his Mommy's ribs.
  • Loves pushing his head into Mommy's bladder.  :$
  • Is probably super excited to try his new bathtub that arrived yesterday.

We'll be excited to hear when your boy decides to show his face! Sounds like all my kids births...NO progress when the doctor checked at my appointments. Always left with the big ZERO news. But once any progress began, it was go time :) Hope you and Scott enjoy your day today and the waiting...that's one of my favorite parts was the waiting and anticipation of when the big day was going to come. Love you!
