Henry's Blessing

We blessed Henry at Scott's parent's church on New Year's Day
We had a bunch of family in town for the holidays, so we thought Henry's blessing would be a great way to get everyone together.  I quickly made an email invite based on Henry's birth announcement (which is still yet to be mailed out.  We'll take care of that little task after we move in a few weeks.  Then it can double as a birth announcement/we've moved notice!)
We were surprised (and touched) by how many people decided to come.  Scott said, "this feels like a wedding reception or something!"  It was a really great party.
We kept things simple with soups, salads, Harmon's bread (Harmon's has THE BEST bread), and cookies from Paradise Bakery.
Thank you to everyone who brought something!
My Mom, Karly, and Mary did a fabulous job turning the plain 'ol church gym into a lovely party setting.  Sadly, I wasn't able to get many pictures of the room... Also, as we were busy trying to chat and spend time with everyone, so we didn't get pics with all the people who came :(  So, please let me know if you have pictures of the evening.  Thanks!

Below are the pics we were able to get.  It was a perfect night.  We are so lucky to have such a great group of people supporting us!

Henry was an extremely well behaved guest of honor.  He was wide awake during the blessing, looking at all the people around him.  Then he fell asleep as we were walking around the gym chatting with everyone.  He only got a little fussy when we were getting ready to leave.  He is such a great baby!
We tried to get a few photos of him in his blessing outfit when we got home.  (A big thanks to Nana for getting us such a cute outfit!)  I'm not thrilled with how the lighting and photos turned out, but at least we were able to get a few okay shots before he decided it was time to call it a night.
FYI, the white blanket he is laying on is the blanket my Mom was blessed in AND the blanket we blessed Henry in.  Tradition!
He made the most adorable cooing noises
and kicked his legs like crazy.
And then, as you can tell by his face in this pic, he was fed up and done with his photo shoot.

Thanks again to everyone who came to celebrate our boy!
Hooray for Henry!

Oh Kate, I need to call you. Thanks for calling. You know Dan Magleby and Hillary. Well, of course you know Hillary. But Dan Magleby is my sister's husband's brother. That's confusing. You look so beautiful. I wish I could have been there.

Good luck on your adventure!
