FYI, the 2010 St. George Marathon is next weekend... but I'll be sleeping in that morning.
I'm loving my reason for not running this year (7 1/2 months pregnant = no marathon for me). However, a small (and slightly crazy) part of me wishes I were going to be out on State Road 18 with 7000+ fellow runners next Saturday morning. -sigh-
So, to make me feel like I'm part of the action, I'll compare my pregnancy progress to the distance of the race. Why not? I've heard several women compare pregnancy and birth to running a marathon. They're both endurance events, right? I've run quite a few marathons, but this will be my first shot at birth. I'll have to get back to you on whether or not I think that's a good analogy.
Anyhow
If this pregnancy were indeed a marathon, I would be 19.65 miles into the race... which, on the St. George course, would put me past Winchester and the Ledges, just starting the downside of the last significant hill.
That's a pretty tough part of the course, but I must say this part of the pregnancy has been fantastic!
A few stats:
- I love feeling him kick and move. He's most active late at night... does that mean we're in for some sleeplessness when he arrives? Oh dear.
- We had our 30 week appointment yesterday and the doc says everything looks perfect. Hooray!
- As of right now he is head down, facing my right side (which explains why his feet are always under the right side of my ribs. Adorable, but a little uncomfortable. Oh well). Here's hoping he stays head down for the rest of the pregnancy!
- I really want to experience a natural birth. We decided to use the Bradley Method and really like the classes so far.
- I've gained 23 pounds since my first OB appointment back in April. Check it out!
